Privacy Policy
Last updated: 23 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Jesus Wallpapers & Status HD ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). By using the App, you agree to the practices described below. This policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (the "DPDP Act").
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture.
- Usage data. Wallpapers you favourite, categories you browse, status cards you create, and basic interaction events used to improve the App.
- Device information. A push-notification token (via Firebase Cloud Messaging), and standard technical metadata such as device model, operating-system version, app version, and crash diagnostics.
- Payment information. Payments are processed entirely by our payment gateway, Razorpay. We do not store or have access to your full card number, CVV, UPI PIN, or bank-account credentials. From a transaction we receive only the plan name, amount, date, status, order ID, payment ID, and gateway reference (signature) needed to verify and activate your subscription.
- AI chat data. When you use the "Ask Jesus" feature, the messages you send are transmitted to our servers and our AI provider to generate a response.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and personalise the App's wallpaper and status feed.
- To create and maintain your account and manage your subscription, including renewals and cancellations.
- To verify and process payments and prevent fraud through Razorpay.
- To send you optional notifications about new wallpapers and blessings (you can disable these in your phone's settings).
- To provide AI-generated spiritual guidance through the Ask Jesus feature.
- To respond to support and grievance requests and to improve, secure, and maintain the service.
3. Third-Party Services and Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share the minimum data necessary with a small set of trusted processors, each governed by their own privacy policies:
- Google Sign-In & Firebase — authentication, push notifications, and crash diagnostics.
- Razorpay — payment processing and subscription billing (including UPI AutoPay).
- Cloudinary — hosting and delivery of wallpaper images and videos.
- PostHog — privacy-friendly product analytics to understand how the App is used.
- Meta (Facebook) App Events — analytics to measure app engagement and advertising effectiveness.
- AI provider — processing of Ask Jesus chat messages to generate responses.
We may also disclose information where required by law, court order, or a lawful request from a government authority.
4. Analytics Consent and Your Choices
Analytics and marketing event collection are used to improve the App. You can limit notifications from your device's settings, and you can request that we stop processing your data for analytics. Disabling certain data collection may limit some features.
5. AI Features and Data Processing
The "Ask Jesus" feature is AI-powered. Your messages are processed to generate replies. We do not use your Ask Jesus conversations to build advertising profiles. AI responses are generated by artificial intelligence and are not authoritative religious guidance — see our Terms & Conditions.
6. App Permissions
The App may request permission to set wallpapers, access storage to save images, and show notifications. Each permission is used only for the feature it enables, and you may revoke permissions at any time in your device settings.
7. Data Security
All communication between the App and our servers is encrypted using HTTPS. We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, or disclosure.
8. Data Retention
- Account data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Crash and diagnostic logs are retained for up to 90 days.
- Financial and transaction records are retained for up to 7 years to meet tax and legal obligations.
- On account deletion, your profile and personal data are deleted within 30 days, subject to the retention obligations above.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. Users between 13 and 18 should use the App and make purchases only with the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023
As a Data Principal, you have the right to:
- Access and obtain a summary of the personal data we process about you.
- Correct, complete, or update inaccurate personal data.
- Request erasure of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Withdraw consent previously given for processing.
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
- Raise a grievance with us (see Section 13).
You may submit a request to exercise any of these rights, and we will respond within the timelines prescribed under applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated through the App.
12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in India.
13. Grievance Redressal
If you have a privacy question, a data-rights request, or a grievance regarding the processing of your personal data, you may raise it with us. We aim to acknowledge grievances within 48 hours and resolve them within the timelines prescribed under applicable law.
